Environmental Impact Assessment

Within the SEIA (Environmental Impact Assessment System) framework, a project will require the preparation of an EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) if it presents any of the circumstances contemplated in Article No. 11 of Law 19.300 (modified by Law 20.417). These include risks to human health, significant damage to natural resources, disruption of life systems, landscapes, and cultural heritage, and proximity to priority conservation sites or protected areas.

Environmental Impact Declaration

Within the framework of the SEIA (Environmental Impact Assessment System) established in Law 19.300, an DIA (Environmental Impact Declaration) will be prepared for projects that do not generate or present any of the circumstances contemplated in Article No. 11 of Law 19.300 (modified by Law 20.417).

Biotic Environment Baseline

Detailed description of the area of ​​influence of a project or activity, prior to its execution. This kind of work should include the project’s objectives and scope, legal framework, related documents and technical references, evaluation criteria (methodology, data acquisition, data collection method, etc.), endemism and origin, conservation status, singularities, and an environmental assessment.

Main impacts for biotic environment

Any project or activity likely to cause environmental impact, including its modifications, may only be implemented or modified after an environmental impact assessment (DIA or EIA). The main impacts on the biotic environment are related to the loss of individuals, habitat loss, alteration or loss of nesting sites, habitat fragmentation, among others.
